Hearing the words ‘they’re insured’ from a pet owner is such a relief to us as vets. It means we both know that the cost of treatment becomes a less significant factor in major medical decision-making. Our choices get to be made primarily based on what we all agree is best for the pet.

Very easy to use and understand what is covered vs. not covered. The prices were very competitive with a few other companies that I quoted as well. This has everything we need, and nothing we don't!

FAQs about how ManyPets works
All the questions you've ever wanted to ask about how ManyPets works with vets.
How does ManyPets pet insurance work at the vet practice?
Pet insurance at a veterinary practice operates through a reimbursement model. When a pet parent brings their furry patient for a visit, the vet provides the necessary care and services, then issues an invoice to the pet parent. The pet parent pays the invoice and subsequently submits a claim to ManyPets for reimbursement, based on their policy's coverage terms. ManyPets reviews the claim and, if it's approved, reimburses the pet parent a percentage of the covered costs, as specified under their policy and coverage selections.
Does ManyPets pet insurance pay the vet directly?
No, ManyPets doesn't pay the vet directly. Instead, the pet parent pays the vet at the time of service, and then files a claim with ManyPets to get reimbursed for covered expenses. The reimbursement amount is determined by the terms of the insurance policy, which may include deductibles and coverage percentages. Rest assured, the vet's compensation is never at risk, as they receive payment from the pet parent at the time of service, ensuring that their fees are covered irrespective of the insurance claim outcome.
Does ManyPets work with any vet?
Pets are free to receive treatment from any licensed veterinarian, specialist, or emergency clinic in the U.S. (or temporarily in Canada) and send the claim to us afterwards.
Why? Unlike with human health insurance plans, which require pre-authorization and limit you to ‘in-network” providers, we pay our pet parent customers directly for qualified claims instead of reimbursing the vet.
Does ManyPets pet insurance cover emergency vet visits?
Yes, emergency vet visits are eligible for coverage. ManyPets doesn't distinguish between types of vet/clinic when reviewing claims, which ensures that pets can be covered in emergencies.
Does ManyPets pet insurance cover regular or routine vet visits?
ManyPets insurance only covers vet costs related to accidents or illnesses.
However, ManyPets does offer an optional, non-insurance Wellness Plan, which can be purchased in addition to insurance. The plan reimburses routine and preventative care for pets, up to the plan's available limits.
How quickly are ManyPets insurance claims paid?
The timeline for reimbursement can vary, but once a claim is approved, it's usually paid out within 8 to 10 business days.
Remember, ManyPets analyzes every claim on its own merits, subject to the terms and conditions of your policy. Exclusions apply, including those for pre-existing conditions. Only claims unrelated to an excluded treatment or condition are eligible for coverage.
How are customers informed of the claims process?
Customers can stay informed about the claims process by logging into the My Account portal on the ManyPets website, where they can follow along with the progress of their claim. Additionally, they're welcome to call or email customer service anytime with questions to get further information or assistance.
