Why get pet insurance in Oregon?
Oregon's wild beauty makes it a playground for pets, whether they’re darting through forests or bounding along the coast. Here’s what to watch out for:
Waterborne illnesses
Oregon's lakes, rivers, and beaches have refreshed many furry friends. But such soggy pastimes can expose them to conditions like leptospirosis and Giardia. Remember: Stagnant or murky water isn’t for swimming or drinking.Seasonal allergies
From springtime pollen to fall mold spores, four-legged Oregonians are susceptible to seasonal sniffles and itching. Regular baths, clean living areas, and air purifiers can all help.Foxtails
Foxtails are a pain for furry Oregonians, especially around Eugene and the southern Willamette Valley. These barbed seeds can get stuck in fur or skin, causing nasty infections. Check your pet after outdoor adventures.Find the pawfect plan

Is pet insurance worth it in Oregon?
Without insurance, veterinary care can drain your savings or be unaffordable, especially for acute conditions needing surgery or costly treatments. For example, hip surgeries can cost up to $4,000, knee surgeries up to $5,000, and cancer treatments over $10,000.
Vet costs are rising due to advances in veterinary health care and specialty treatments, leading to better care but higher expenses. Without pet insurance, you may be unable to afford treatments if your pet becomes sick or injured.
Pet insurance can quickly reimburse approved claims, putting money back in your bank account.
And in some critical situations, it may be the only thing that lets you opt for life-saving treatment instead of euthanasia.
Unfortunately, unexpected veterinary costs do pop up, and the last thing you want to worry about is money when your focus should be on helping your pet feel better.
Good pet insurance policies will pay for most treatment options that your veterinarian might recommend. Some insurance companies even offer wellness plans to reimburse you for preventive care! The peace of mind that pet insurance provides is truly priceless.

Far too often, pet parents must dip into their savings to treat their four-legged friends. Our mission is to prevent that.
However, there are instances when claims won’t qualify for coverage. We want our customers to be fully informed, and we don’t believe in burying important information in the fine print.
Like other pet insurers, ManyPets doesn't cover pre-existing conditions (more on that below). Our insurance policy also won't reimburse for preventative care, though our Wellness Plan will.
How does ManyPets define pre-existing conditions?
ManyPets defines a pre-existing condition as:
While pet insurance companies usually exclude pre-existing conditions, ManyPets will no longer consider a condition pre-existing if your pet has been symptom-free, undiagnosed, and untreated for 18 months (except for hip dysplasia, cruciate ligament conditions, and, in some states, invertebral disc disease).
