“25 claims later...”

I noticed a small lump on my Dallaz's side. I got him to the vet the next day. It was quickly determined that he had a Mast Cell Tumor. A very scary thing to say the least. It turned out to be extremely costly. Without my ManyPets coverage, I would have gone into debt. His removal surgery went well thank heavens. But even better is that they also covered his holistic aftercare. I am so grateful to have this coverage. Over the years ManyPets have paid on over 25 claims.

Why get pet insurance for multiple pets?

When you get another pet, you double the love and... double the cost of vet care? Yikes. The good news is that pet insurance can help.

That’s where insurance for a multi-pet household comes in. Whether you have one cat or 15 (yes, we can really insure that many), they may all qualify for great coverage.

That way, you can stop fretting over the financial burden of vet care and focus on what really matters: getting that hair off your couch—er, getting more cuddles in with your copious fur babies—and then getting the hair off your clothes.

Why ManyPets multi-pet health insurance?

ManyPets offers pet insurance coverage for accidents and illnesses at competitive prices with no hidden fees. ManyPets may also cover certain items—like accident/illness exams and treatments for dental disease—that some of our competitors don’t. And unlike many other companies, ManyPets doesn’t place annual caps on reimbursement for approved claims.

What vets really think about pet insurance

Unfortunately, unexpected veterinary costs do pop up, and the last thing you want to worry about is money when your focus should be on helping your pet feel better. The peace of mind that pet insurance provides is truly priceless.

Dr. Jennifer Coates, DVM

Hearing the words ‘they’re insured’ from a pet owner is such a relief to us as vets. It means we both know that the cost of treatment becomes a less significant factor in major medical decision making. Our choices get to be made primarily based on what we all agree is best for the pet.

Frequently asked questions

Everything else you may want to know about pet insurance for multiple pets.

How do I insure multiple pets?

Looking to insure multiple pets? If it's your first time signing up with ManyPets, just get a quote and begin the usual purchase process. After you’ve submitted the details for your first pet, you’ll see a spot on the next page where you can click “Add another pet.” Just click and repeat until you’ve added all your furry friends, each with their own unique policies.

Trying to add a new pet insurance policy to your pre-existing account? Reach out to our team for help.

Will all my pets be covered under one policy?

Technically, ManyPets doesn’t offer a single multi-pet insurance plan that covers multiple pets under a single policy. Instead, you’ll have separate policies for each pet. Certain details, like premiums or exclusions for pre-existing conditions, may be unique to each pet based on their own circumstances.

What’s covered when you insure multiple pets?

Each ManyPets pet health insurance policy covers a pet’s qualified accident and illness treatments and healthcare costs.

Accident and illness coverage includes items and services such as:

  • Diagnostics, including bloodwork and lab work, x-rays, MRIs, urinalysis, ultrasounds, and CT scans

  • Medications, including prescriptions and injections

  • Procedures, including surgery

  • Hospitalizations, including emergency care

...And more. Best of all, you can visit any licensed veterinarian, and there are no annual caps on payouts for approved claims!*

Is pet insurance for multiple pets cheaper than separate policies?

Insuring multiple pets at ManyPets US is as simple as adding another pet with its own policy to your account. When you sign up, you'll have the power to decide which deductible and premium options you're comfortable with, specific to each pet. We don't offer a discount for insuring multiple pets (for now!).

Can you get multi-cat insurance?

Yes, absolutely.

If it's your first time signing up with ManyPets, just get a quote and begin the usual purchase process. After you’ve submitted the details for your first pet, you’ll see a spot on the next page where you can click “Add another pet.” Just click and repeat until you’ve added all your furry friends!

Can you get multi-dog insurance?

Yes, indogitably.

If it's your first time signing up with ManyPets, just get a quote and begin the usual purchase process. After you’ve submitted the details for your first pet, you’ll see a spot on the next page where you can click “Add another pet.” Just click and repeat until you’ve added all your furry friends!

Trying to add a new dog insurance policy to your pre-existing account? Reach out to our team for help.

Can I insure multiple older cats and dogs?

Yes, you can insure multiple older cats and older dogs on new policies as long as they are under the age of 14 (plus one day). Once they're part of the ManyPets pack, they’ll never age out of the policy, so long as you maintain continuous coverage.

How many pets can I insure at once?

At ManyPets, you can sign up each of your pets for their own policies; there is no limit to the number of dogs and cats you can insure. Bring one, bring all! We are named "ManyPets," after all.

How will I get paid for a pet insurance claim?

We’ll reimburse approved claims via direct deposit to your bank account or via check, your choice.

If I claim for one pet, does it affect the risk-free period for other covered pets?

Simply put, no. ManyPets lets you opt out of coverage within the risk-free period of each policy (30 days in most states**), so long as you haven’t claimed. Since your pets are on separate policies, submitting a claim for reimbursement for one pet will not affect the risk-free period for another pet.

How do pre-existing conditions work when you insure multiple pets?

Woof. The topic of pre-existing conditions deserves an entire article — good thing we wrote one!

To start, multi-pet insurance policies at ManyPets are simply multiple individual pet insurance policies, so each is treated separately, and pre-existing conditions are specific to each pet.

Unlike many of our competitors, we may cover a pre-existing condition if your pet has been free of symptoms and treatment for a certain period of time — 18 months in most states** — unless the condition is a cruciate ligament (CL, CCL, or ACL) injury or hip dysplasia. In that case, we will not be able to cover any future claims.
