Your ManyPets pet insurance plan doesn’t draw a distinction between emergency care, specialist care, or non-emergency accident or illness care, so the rules are the same across the board. ManyPets insurance does not cover:
Waiting periods
This is the brief period, beginning the day your insurance policy becomes effective, when your pet's accidents and illnesses are not yet eligible for coverage. Waiting periods may vary by state due to relevant regulatory rules and changes; always refer to your own state’s policy wording.
Pre-existing conditions
These are conditions for which your pet was symptomatic, treated, or diagnosed before your pet insurance policy went into effect, or during your waiting period. For some other companies, pre-existing conditions are permanently ineligible for coverage.
However, ManyPets will no longer consider most conditions to be pre-existing if your pet has been free of symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment for a certain amount of time—18 months in most states. (This time period can vary by state; in Oregon and Vermont, it’s six months rather than 18.)
Preventative care
The ManyPets Accident and Illness Policy does not cover routine or preventative care like checkups, dental cleanings, parasite prevention, or supplements. However, ManyPets’ optional Wellness Plan is designed to reimburse you for these items. Learn more about Wellness!
