Dog parks are a great way for pets to socialize and get some much-needed exercise. Atlanta has several designated off-leash dog parks within the city limits in addition to a few unique parks in the suburbs that give people and their pups a chance to mingle and let loose. The three-acre Piedmont Dog Park is located within gorgeous Piedmont Park overlooking the Atlanta skyline. Dogs over 30 pounds can have a blast in the large off-leash enclosure, while small dogs have their own dedicated space. This downtown park has no shortage of amenities, from public restrooms and benches for pet parents to water spigots for thirsty pups. This is the city’s most popular canine hangout and is best for dogs that are well socialized. Outside of the dog area, there are plenty of trails to explore on leash in the park itself.
